Gebrüder Weiss gives customers insight into Eastern Europe strategy

November 27/28 in Budapest: Gebrüder Weiss informs about pioneering role in the development of the Silk Road at TRANSLOG Connect

This year, Gebrüder Weiss will once again be taking part in the TRANSLOG Connect trade fair and congress at the Corinthia Grand Hotel in Budapest, Hungary, and be active as exhibitor and sponsor of the event. From November 27 to 28, Gebrüder Weiss sales experts from all Eastern European countries will be available to answer questions – with regards to overland transport, air and sea freight as well as logistics and special solutions.

One particular highlight of the congress programme is Chaim Huijsman’s lecture “From Mozart to Genghis Khan”, which will be given on November 27. Gebrüder Weiss’ pioneering role in the development of the Silk Road as well as logistical examples of practice by the Georgian partner, Tegeta Motors will be in the focus. By the end of September 2013, The company had started operations at its new 10,000 m² logistics centre in the Georgian capital, Tbilisi. The new site is intended to establish itself as a hub between Europe and the Near East as well as a gateway into Central Asia in the longer term. With this, Gebrüder Weiss is moving closer to its goal of opening up the Silk Road to overland traffic.

“The fair gives us a unique opportunity to meet with many of our customers and to establish new contacts in an international environment,” says Chaim Huijsman, Head of Corporate Sales at Gebrüder Weiss. Furthermore, Gebrüder Weiss has been nominated for the “1st Central Eastern European Logistics and Supply Chain Management Award”. The presentation of the international award in the logistics sector will take place on the first day of the congress.
