GEFCO acquires 70% stake in Gruppo Mercurio
Following a memorandum of understanding on April 5th and approval of the relevant competition authorities on May 9th, the GEFCO group has finalised its acquisition of a 70% stake in Gruppo Mercurio.
Gruppo Mercurio is a major player in the transportation and distribution of vehicles in Italy and worldwide. The company is broadly diversified internationally, particularly in the high-growth areas of Mercosur, India, southeast Asia and Central Europe.
This acquisition enables GEFCO to step up its development in outbound automotive logistics and to combine the further diversification of its customer portfolio with increased international growth.
In addition, the considerable synergies generated by working alongside Mercurio will allow GEFCO to increase its competitiveness within its European network.
