Gefco enters the market in Kasachstan

New national company in Kazakhstan reinforces position of the industrial logistics specialist Gefco in central Asia:

The French Gefco group has opened first the location in Kazakhstan within its international network. The just founded national company with its base in Almaty is part of the international expansion plan focussing on industrial logistics services. The new branch reinforces the presence of the enterprise in central Asia.

“Kazakhstan’s favorable geographic location, at the centre of the Eurasian continent, allows it to play out its role as the principal transit bridge between Europe and Asia connecting Central Asian countries, such as Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan with Europe. China also has access to Russian and European markets through our territory. Furthermore, there is now an extensive growth in Kazakhstan’s industrial manufacturing and foreign trade, which creates an advantageous environment for transportation and logistics infrastructure development”, – said Sultan Zhassybay.

The company will primarily support corporate clients of the Gefco group in central Asia, optimizing their supply chain processes. In addition, it will seek to expand its own client portfolio by offering a full range of logistics services for customers operating in various sectors ranging from FMCG to industrial equipment. Gefco Kazakhstan’s team will consist of 10 employees by the end of 2011.
