RCA improves offering within intermodal network NINA

NINA to be upgraded with optimised transport times and better links to Hall/Tyrol, Krems/Danube and Kapfenberg:

Rail Cargo Austria’s intermodal network NINA (Neues Intermodales Netzwerk Austria) is to be improved and expanded. In a press release the cargo transport division of ÖBB announces better transport times from 2011, „because closing for cargo will be later with provision of the transport boxes at the same or an earlier date“. At the same time the service on the route from Hall in Tyrol to Wels will be increased to daily operations. Moreover Krems/Danube will be integrated into the NINA system with a direct train service via Linz to Wels three times per week.

Also the mining terminal Kapfenberg is to be integrated into the NINA network. “From September this station will be connected three times per week to the train service from Graz via St. Michael in Upper Styria to Wels“, Rail Cargo Austria’s press release reads.
