Georgia is on trial with Hödlmayr International

After a positive business development in 2013 “jubilarian” Hödlmayr International plans to expand to the Caucasus

Hödlmayr International (Schwertberg) is planning to establish a new national subsidiary. A new international branch of the group could be opened in Georgia before the end of this year. The market surveys carried out intensively in the past months showed a significant potential. “We are currently examining other framework conditions. If no unexpected problems arise, the market entry can be implemented quickly,” says Johannes Hödlmayr, MBA, CEO.

In the past financial year the “automotive-specialist“ with about 1,400 employees in 15 European countries generated turnover of about EUR 200 million. The development in the Turkish market had been particularly pleasing. The enterprise will attach great importance to this market also in the future, Johannes Hödlmayr emphasised.

In 2014 Hödlmayr International celebrates its 60th anniversary. Since the company was founded in 1954, demands to the vehicle logistic specialist have changed dramatically: While in the past the focus had been exclusively on transportation, the service range of the leading company from the Mühlviertel-region in Upper Austria, now also covers conversion of vehicles, construction of special models and fitting of special equipment, such as special seats. Since its establishment Hödlmayr has transported about 20 million vehicles representing a goods value of about EUR 400 billion, and has invested a total of EUR 500 million.
