German Transport Minister points importance of cargo transport

“We need to map the demand for freight transport with the least possible noise and emissions.” This was the statement of the German Transport Minister Andreas Scheuer, welcoming an Austrian delegation on the occasion of the “Logistics Hall of Fame” gala in Berlin on December 5th. The politician also drew attention to the importance of efficient connections in transalpine freight traffic.

In his subsequent speech at the “Logistics Hall of Fame” gala, Andreas Scheuer reiterated the importance of the logistics industry for Germany as a business location. In the past, logistics service providers came last in industrial decision-making; in the meantime, the topics of logistics and digitalisation are at the beginning of the design of process chains.

The Logistics Hall of Fame honours leading figures who have made outstanding efforts to promote the further development of logistics and supply chain management. In addition, ist aims to document outstanding achievements in logistics and to encourage and promote innovations. During this year’s gala event, the automobile logistics specialist Rolf Schnellecke was oficially welcomed as a member of the ‘Hall of Fame of Logistics’.
