Getir to slash 11% of its workforce globally

Rapid delivery company Getir has said that that it is cutting 2,500 jobs across five countries it operates in.

The company said in a statement sent to Logistics Manager that it will continue to operate in Turkey, the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, and the United States. It last month announced its exit from Italy, Spain, and Portugal.

It said: “Regrettably, Getir intends to reduce its team and, with a heavy heart, part ways with approximately 2,500 talented employees across its markets.

“Decisions like these are never taken lightly. However, Getir is determined to do right by all employees affected by the process in line with its values and in full compliance with local laws.”

The news comes after the announcement last month that Getir would be pulling its services out of Spain, Italy, and Portugal.
