Giant pick tower helps CML wins new business

CML has won a contract with the school wear and sportswear supplier Blue Max Banner following installation of a custom-built pick tower at its Lutterworth warehouse.

The new structure can accommodate between 50,000 and 100,000 product locations, and has static, adjustable shelves and hanging garment rails served by a three-level reversible conveyor system and garment elevators.

Blue Max sells hundreds of thousands of garments online each year. CML believes that, as the e-commerce grows, demand for the pick tower facility is likely to increase.

CML’s managing director Mark Webb said: “Our pick tower will now enable us to complete every aspect of customer fulfilment and returns processing, from pick to store or pick to consumer.”
