Greiwing makes major investment close to the Austrian border
With a groundbreaking ceremony, Greiwing logistics for you GmbH launched the start of the construction of a new branch in Burghausen, southern Bavaria, on October 25th. From the end of next year, the family business, which is one of the leading silologists companies in Germany, will employ around 80 people at this location.

In the first phase of the construction, a 9,000 m² logistics hall will be built, which will be equipped with a sprinkler system and a mobile rack, which offers space for 15,000 pallets. It will store PVC products and polymer plastics for the local chemical industry. In addition, a filling and silage area, a silo tower with three 120 cubic meters of filling silos, a high silo plant with 24 containers and a capacity of 355 cubic meters each, storage areas for 144 TEU as well as an administrative building will be erected.
In the second construction phase, another logistics hall with a floor area of 11,500 m² and four fully automated unloading systems will be built. The special feature of this hall are its three sections, which are also separated from each other by means of fire protection. Section one is equipped with a gas extinguishing system and will have an area of 2,600 m² for around 4,700 pallets. In the future, hazardous substances and substances up to Water Hazard Class 3 (WGK) can be stored there.
Section two occupies the largest area with 5,500 m² and will have a sprinkler system and a narrow aisle rack with 12,200 pallet spaces. From the end of 2018 substances up to class WGK 2can be stored there. Hall section three is designed for the storage of products according to the standards HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice). It will cover a floor area of 3,400 m², also have a sprinkler system and a mobile rack and offer space for up to 5,400 pallets.
At the new location, Greiwing will primarily supply contract logistics for major customers from the nearby chemical parks in Burghausen and Burgkirchen. The range of services covers filling of silos, loading of silo trailers and containers, filling into bags and big bags and their storage as well as transport of loose and packed goods. Thanks to its connection to the combined transport terminal, the transport can also be carried out environmentally friendly by rail.
Greiwing logistics for you GmbH, headquartered in Greven, is an internationally operating specialist for full range solutions in silo logistics. Their services include conventional and combined transport, storage and handling. In addition to bulk goods, also milk powder, sugar, polenta, cocoa powder and other food are transported in special food silo trailers. Today, the family-run company employs over 700 people at ten locations in Germany and generates annual sales of around EUR 90 million.
