Head trust in parcel logistics by DPD Austria

DPD Austria handles 90 per cent of the parcel shipments of Head, a sports articles manufacturer; Success in tennis tournaments spur shipment volume
 
DPD Austria has longstanding experience in shipping sports articles. 90 per cent of all parcel shipments of Head, a Vorarlberg-based manufacturer of sports articles, are handled in the system of the private parcel service provider. Events like the ATP tournament in Vienna (12 to 20 October 2013) have positive influence on sports enthusiasm and thus on the economy, which leads to increases in sales and shipment volumes with respect to rackets and other tennis equipment.
 
DPD Austria carries around 27,000 parcels on behalf of Head in Austria, of which 8,000 packages contain tennis articles. In addition, about 46,000 parcels go abroad, mainly to Germany. Via this network in Austria about 1,300 recipients at about 600 places are supplied with with tennis rackets, balls, equipment and sportswear. The parcel service company has been integrated into the logistics of Head since 1999. It provides one swap body per day in the Head warehouse in Klaus in the district of Feldkirch, to facilitate distribution via the DPD depot in Sulz.
 
DPD Austria, the country’s leading private parcel service based in Leopoldsdorf near Vienna, specialises in national/international parcel distribution from business to business. Across Austria, the company employs approximately 1,500 people and has a transport fleet of 900 vehicles, which carried approximately 38.5 million packages in 2012.
