“Heavy mission“: Mega freighter Antonov 124 called Linz on behalf of Panalpina

60 tonnes heavy component was flown from the blue danube airport linz to Dammam in Saudi Arabia on 9 August

The transport and logistics provider Panalpina Austria demonstrated its capabilities in solving sophisticated projects last week-end. On behalf of the customer Thyssen, an Antonov 124, the largest serial-built cargo aircraft, carried a 60 tonnes heavy component from the blue danube airport linz via Ankara (Turkey) to Dammam in Saudi Arabia.

Being a leading international forwarder, Panalpina is moving several thousand tonnes of airfreight every year. This with the objective of meeting or exceeding the customers’ requirements regarding service quality, handling processes and keeping the delivery times. If required – as last week-end – also very heavy, large and oversized goods are handled via the controlled airfreight network.
