Hödlmayr registers boom on the Bosporus

Order volume of Hödlmayr Nakliyat ve Ticaret Ltd. quintuples within a period of two years
 
It is a clearly positive development that automotive logistician Hödlmayr registers in Turkey. Established in 2010 the Hödlmayr Logistics branch on the Bosporus had been able to quintuple their order volume to about 10,000 vehicles monthly within a period of two years. The fleet of the youngest Hödlmayr subsidiary with currently 54 employees consists of 25 special carriers.
 
Their main customer of Dogus Automotive, a company in charge of the sales management of the entire product range of the VW group in Turkey. “We have been exclusively delivering all Porsche vehicles from Germany to Turkey in the past two years“, says Tansel Has, Branch Manager of Hödlmayr in Turkey.
 
The 2013 agreement with the customer Dogus Automotive comprises port transportations and distribution of 65,000 vehicles. In addition the Turkish Hödlmayr branch provides also services such as unloading of vessels (about 1,100 vehicles per vessel), takeover, inspection and reports of damages, interim storage and forwarding in Sekerpinar-Gebze for this customer.
 
Hödlmayr International AG and their branches in fourteen countries employ 1,300 staff, who are operating storage space for 75,000 vehicles. As to transport logistics they dispose of 550 special vehicle carriers and ten block train systems. The enterprise headquartered in Schwertberg, Upper Austria, has lately generated annual sales of about EUR 190 million. In total Hödlmayr International AG delivers about one million vehicles per year. As releasing agent (also in charge of quality control of new cars) the private group of companies moves 550,000 new cars in six automotive factories each year.
