ILL’s head urges for transnational waterway management

ILL’s head Dr. Ralph Gallob urges for measures of the public authorities in favour of infrastructural development along the Rhine-Main-Danube waterway

„With poorly developed infrastructure, even the most modern port is worth nothing!“ said Dr. Ralph Gallob, Managing Director of Industrie Logistik Linz GmbH (ILL), a few days ago on the EU logistics conference in Brussels, emphasising on the significance of eliminating weak points on the waterway.

This year’s logistics conference of the European Union was dedicated to the motto “Logistics in 2030″. In his speech Ralph Gallob discussed the topic „Importance of a functioning infrastructure for efficient logistics.“ He paid special attention to infrastructure development along the waterway. A draught of 2.5 meters and intact locks along the Rhine-Main-Danube channel are necessary to make the waterway competitive. It was mainly the public authorities who is in charge of advancing a transnational waterway management.
