KG (UTA) has a new Country Manager: as of 1 June 2016, Iulian Alexe is managing the business in Bucharest, where he will focus particularly on developing UTA Romania’s sales activities. He will report to Gabriel Moulènes, Area Manager for Central and Eastern Europe.

The 45-year-old Romanian has many years of experience in the sector: before his appointment at UTA, Alexe spent seven years in management positions at the restaurant voucher and service card provider Edenred Romania, most recently as Expense Management & Business Development Director. In this role, he coordinated the development and launch of various innovative solutions – including Romania’s first employee restaurant card – thanks to which Edenred was able to bring its traditional voucher business into the digital age. In November 2015, UTA and Edenred opened a joint branch in Romania. Iulian Alexe was directly involved with the development and management of UTA’s activities there.

Previously, the graduate of Politechnica University Bucharest worked at Vodafone for twelve years in a customer support management role. “Iulian Alexe has an excellent understanding of our company as well as of the Romanian market, and has a strongly customer-oriented style,” says Gabriel Moulènes, Area Manager for Central and Eastern Europe. “That’s why he’s the best choice for our important Romanian branch.” Businesses can already use the UTA fuel card at more than 700 locations in Romania.
