Jaguar Land Rover signs up to Gefco transport

Jaguar Land Rover has signed a contract with Gefco, following a review of its domestic carriers, for the latter to provide transport for the car manufacturer’s Range Rovers between UK production plants, storage compounds, and ports of exit.

As a result of the deal between the two firms, Gefco is to invest in a fleet of new transporters tailored to the needs of Jaguar Land Rovers. The new fleet will improve operational efficiency, due to the increased number of vehicles that they can carry.

The transporters will be fitted with Qualcomm, a tracking system providing real-time movement of vehicles.

John Stocker, finished vehicle logistics director at Gefco UK, said: “With this new contract, we are looking forward to continuing to offer the very highest service levels to Jaguar Land Rover Limited.”
