Kick-off for project Logistics 2030+

The project “Sustainable Logistics 2030+ Lower Austria-Vienna” (short: Logistics 2030+) has been successfully launched. Together with stakeholders and experts from business and politics, concepts and projects are being developed in order to prepare the region as best as possible for the logistical challenges of the future

The first step, the establishment of a stakeholder board, has already been completed. Experts such as the entrepreneurs Paul Brandstätter (Veloce) and Beate Färber-Venz (Venz GmbH) or the logistics specialists Andreas Bayer (Rewe Austria) and Herwig Gruber (Kastner GroßhandelsgmbH) will be drawn on.

“The economy and population in Vienna and Lower Austria are growing. At the same time, Austria has ratified the Paris climate. However, those developments are not oriented at the administrative boundaries. Therefore, joint solutions for sustainable logistics are needed. We want to work out these proposals and propose them to the policies in Vienna and Lower Austria, “said the founder of the Stakeholder Board.

First results on the detailed interviews with selected stakeholders and the online survey on future topics and areas of action in logistics can be found on the newly established website www.logistik2030.at.

At the moment, the most important strategic areas are defined, working groups are formed and initial pilot projects are prepared. Interested persons can register to collaborate via the website.

The project is scheduled for three years. The project promoters, the Land of Lower Austria, the City of Vienna, the Economic Chamber of Lower Austria and the Economic Chamber of Vienna are supported by denkstatt and Econsult.
