Kuehne + Nagel: Enhanced cooperation with BMW

Kuehne + Nagel added 50,000 m² logistics space to its logistics centre in Wörth a.d. Isar, Bavaria, for the car manufacturer BMW 
 
The Kuehne + Nagel logistics centre in Wörth a.d. Isar, Bavaria, is developing into the major hub for BMW’s plants in Germany. On 1 August, Kuehne + Nagel took over another 50,000 m² logistics space, thus expanding the facility to a total space of 95,000 m². From Wörth the BMW plants in Dingolfing, Landshut and Leipzig are being supplied.
 
Kuehne + Nagel will be organising the transportation between the logistics terminal and the car manufacturer’s production sites. In addition, the logistics company is in charge of warehousing services, sequencing, the commissioning of components, reverse logistics, customs clearance and various security tasks. The supply centre will also be used as a cross-dock, where goods from suppliers will be received, handled and distributed to all Bavarian BMW plants. 
 
Since 1999, Kuehne + Nagel has been providing complex contract logistics solutions to BMW, including spare parts logistics, process management and the supply of BMW’s plant in Leipzig. Throughout Germany, the globally operating transport and logistics service provider is operating logistics centres with a total area of 230,000 m² for BMW in Germany.
