Logwin takes further action in Eastern Europe

Logwin: 20 years-jubilee in Eastern Europe is accompanied by expansion in Hungary, Slovakia and Poland

The worldwide operating logistics service provider Logwin is looking back on 20 years of successful activities in Eastern Europe. Its market entry was accomplished by opening the first own locations in Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland. Today the logistics company is a firmly established player in all four countries. “Over the past two decades the individual national companies have specialised in various industries and made a name for themselves in their field,” explains Mario Aschbacher, Head of Central and Eastern Europe in the Solutions unit Logistics and Warehousing.

The positive trend in Eastern Europe is continued throughout 2012. The Slovakian organisation will be taking on additional employees in Slovakia in order to fulfil a new commission in the media sector. It recently extended its storage area in Poland, and this year a new cross-docking facility will be connected to the network in Hungary, which will primarily be of interest to customers in the retail area.

In Eastern Europe Logwin provides warehousing solutions, customs processing, value added services, procurement, distribution, assembly and just-in-time deliveries for customers in the media, automotive and retail sectors using land transportation as well as air and sea cargo. In Poland, Logwin supplies car factories with parts from neighbouring countries; in the Czech Republic Logwin has put a focus on the media sector. In addition the enterprise operates several warehouses and hubs in Eastern Europe that are used in particular by fashion customers, who are also using their transport service for hanging garments.

Logwin employs currently 450 people in Poland, 60 in Slovakia, 35 in Hungary and 30 employees in the Czech Republic. The logistics expert today operates nine sites in Poland, two in Hungary, three in the Czech Republic and one in Slovakia.
