Kuehne + Nagel enhances contract logistics in the Baltic States
New distribution centre for contract logistics by Kuehne + Nagel near Latvia’s capital Riga
In order to strengthen its position in the contract logistics market in the Baltic region, Kuehne + Nagel has opened a new distribution centre near Latvia’s capital Riga. The building is designed to serve as the basis for the expansion of their portfolio of integrated supply chain management solutions. The new building in Sauriesi close to Riga, is equipped with 14.000 m² of warehousing space, including a special cross-docking area, as well as modern offices. The facility has good airport and road connections. Its equipment with modern security standards allow to store high value goods from the high-tech and consumer goods industry. Kuehne + Nagel has been present with an own national company in Latvia since 1992. According to their own statement the enterprise is the leading seafreight provider and among the top three providers of services in the airfreight, road transport and contract logistics business.
