Kuehne + Nagel sets up new auto parts distribution centre in Vancouver

Kuehne + Nagel has been awarded a three-year contract to manage the BMW Regional Distribution Centre in Vancouver, which services authorised dealers of Western Canada.

The scope of services includes inbound goods receiving, put-away, storage, picking and packing, returns from dealers, and kit assembly, as well as administrative and dealer support for BMW automotive and motorcycle parts, accessories, lifestyle products and hazardous materials.

Kuehne + Nagel is providing an 8,200 m2 warehouse facility, which allows for further extension up to 10,034 m2. The facility holds approximately 32,000 SKUs stored in a three-story mezzanine with shelving, cantilever and pallet racking.

The new business in the automotive sector and the BMW facility investment will further strengthen Kuehne + Nagel’s position in automotive aftermarket warehousing and distribution in the growing Canadian market.

As an Asia-Pacific trade lane gateway, Vancouver is a highly promising area for contract logistics business, and this new contract will also significantly expand Kuehne + Nagel’s current footprint.

Kuehne + Nagel provides logistics services for the BMW Group at seventeen locations in eight countries.
