LAN Cargo affiliate opens facility in Bogota

LAN Cargo’s affiliate in Colombia, Linea Aerea Carguera de Colombia (LANCO) has opened a 6,050 m² facility at the El Dorado Airport in Bogota.

The US$7 million investment is part of the more than US$200 million dollars in assets that the LANCO has invested in Colombia.

With 2,400 m² for cold storage and 3,400 m² for dry storage, the expanded warehouse will provide a smooth import and export operation; guaranteeing that the cold chain is maintained whilst complying with the highest environmental standards in the industry.

The expansion of warehouse facilities results in a 125% increase in LANCO’s operating capacity, reducing the processing times for cargo delivery and reception by more than half.

LAN Cargo and its affiliates – ABSA in Brazil, MasAir in Mexico and LANCO in Colombia – form the largest air cargo operators in Latin America, with a fleet including twelve 767-300 Freighters and two latest-generation Boeing 777 Freighters operating between three key points in the US and Europe, in addition to 34 destinations in Latin America.
