Largest warehouse in Gatwick region secures planning

St. Modwen has secured detailed planning permission from Mid Sussex Council for a 64,752 sq ft unit at St. Modwen Park Gatwick.

The new unit will form the second phase of development at the site. The first phase, a 100,000 sq ft unit pre-let to Gatwick Airport, is currently under construction and will be ready for occupation later this year.

Believed to be the largest planned unit in the Gatwick Diamond area for more than a decade, St. Modwen has revised its initial outline consent with detailed plans to create a significantly taller building with an internal height of 12.5 metres. The additional 4.5m height will cater to market demand, enabling more space for warehouse racking and the potential for additional mezzanine floor space.

With demand for industrial space in the area high, St. Modwen’s Grade A specification building benefits from B1 and B8 planning uses with 24-hour access, seven dock level loading doors and a 50m deep secure service yard.

It is located close to Junction 10 of the M23, serving both Gatwick and Crawley.

BNP Paribas Real Estate is acting as agent for St Modwen Park Gatwick.
