Leading Lloyd’s syndicate creates waves in London market with new marine hull team

Brit Insurance has appointed industry specialist Bob Clarkson to be its senior marine hull underwriter, working closely with Simon Stonehouse, Anthony Forsyth and John Higham. Bob Clarkson joins the team from global insurer QBE where he was responsible for underwriting marine hull and war classes for over a decade. His key responsibility will be for building risks, increased value and hull war.

Commenting on his appointment, Jonathan Suckling, Managing Director of Specialty Risks at Gallagher London, said: “We know Bob extremely well and this addition for Brit Insurance creates a world class team with significant relationships in the international marine market.”

Bob Clarkson, senior marine hull underwriter, Brit Insurance, adds: “My move to Brit Insurance and joining the marine hull team provides me with a higher level of visibility in terms of lines of business that we are able to write. I’m extremely confident that the combination of experience we have will generate significant new opportunities for profitable growth.”
The new appointment comes in the wake of an increased focus for the company on the Lloyd’s market and its commitment to delivering improved services to brokers and clients through its newly created strategic business unit, Brit Global Specialty.
