LogServ accompanies Rotec with its big overseas trip
LogServ provides full range service for the transportation of a voestalpine Rotec production plant from Styria to the United States of America
In transferring a 26 tonnes voestalpine Rotec production plant to the U.S., the team of LogServ contract and project logistics has proven its competence. Rotec is a specialist for the production and processing of precision steel tubes.
“In early December the plant was transported from the Rotec site in Krieglach, Styria, to Lafayette. After dismantling in Austria, in addition to the door-door transportation to Lafayette, we have also organized the packaging for the sea transport,“ said Dietmar Reichl, operationally responsible for customers, who also has successfully handled a similar project for Rotec to the USA in 2010, and a plant to China in 2014.
In addition to such unusual projects LogServ-contract and project logistics operates especially in the truck sector for Rotec. „We basically provide our expertise in purchasing the truck loads and operational implementation in daily scheduling business,“ says René Abpfolter, Head of the customer service business unit. Often short-notice demands of customers outside the agreed delivery times require appropriate fleixibility.
The range of services in the LogServ Business Unit for contract and project logistics covers European truck scheduling and settlement of complex overseas transports, including logistics checks as well as the management and coordination of shipping processes.
