Logwin expands fashion logistics facilities in Vietnam

Logwin has announced plans to move its Ho Chi Minh City operations to a new enlarged warehouse CFS facility, in response to growing demand in Vietnam’s garment manufacturing sector and a dramatic increase in international ocean- and airfreight services.

Logwin handled close to 75,000 m3 of garments and shoes at its warehouses in Vietnam last year, and is forecasting a further increase in its import and export business this year.

Logwin’s warehouse and consolidation centre in Hanoi was extended from 1,000 m2 to 2,000 m2, and the company has more than doubled capacity at its Haiphong Container Freight Station to 2,000 m2.

This year, Logwin in Ho Chi Minh City will move into a new enlarged warehouse CFS facility, with a state-of-the-art racking system that doubles storage capacity to 1,000 pallet positions.

Logwin also has facilities in the North, Central and South of Vietnam close to major manufacturing centres, providing storage, sorting, price tagging, export consolidation, sample taking and quality inspection services.

Vietnam’s import and export volumes are forecast to grow by 20% in 2011. During the last decade, container volumes have also increased by between 20% and 25% a year.

According to Vietnam’s Civil Aviation Authority, the volume of cargo on international flights into and out of Vietnam last year increased by 37% to 340,000 tons. There are also an estimated 27 new shipping services launching into Vietnam in 2011 as new port projects are completed.
