Loxxess AG: New pharmaceutical logistics centre near Regensburg

Loxxes Pharma in Neutraubling to open an air-conditioned warehouse with 17,000 pallet spaces in three temperature zones in spring 2015

Loxxess Pharma builds a new logistics centre for around EUR 15 million in Neutraubling near Regensburg, which is to open in spring 2015. With the new site, the company expands its capacity for storage, handling and fine order picking of finished medicinal products.

The new logistics centre offers more than 15,000 pallet spaces in the air-conditioned high bay warehouse. An additional cold store holds more than 1,500 pallets, a refrigerated warehouse 100, and a special hazardous goods store an additional 250 pallets. Due to the complete climate control, monitoring and documentation of factors such as temperature and humidity as well as other organisational measures, the location also meets the stringent requirements of the 2013 EU Good Distribution Practice (EU GDP). In addition, the company is certified according to ISO 9001, features a wholesaler and a manufacturer’s permission.

With the new location Loxxess Pharma responds to the increased demand for GDP-compliant storage of temperature-sensitive drugs, and improves the conditions for the implementation of international logistics concepts. The logistics centre has a direct access to the A3 motorway and has sufficient reserve areas, which can be used for further capacity expansion. At the same time the property is only a few kilometres away from the previous location in Regensburg. This means the incorporated and established staff can keep their jobs.

Loxxess AG has specialised in complex outsourcing projects in the industrial and trade logistics. The company is headquartered in Unterföhring close to Munich, has about 1,600 employees, and operates 26 logistics sites in Germany, the Czech Republic and Poland with 600,000 m² of storage space.
