LTE and Adria Transport achieve “impressive profits”

In the anniversary year 2018, Graz-Köflacher Bahn and Busbetrieb GmbH (GKB) will initiate the next innovation steps. The GKB Strategy 2030 outlines the necessary development measures. Central to these considerations is the electrification of GKB’s entire route network. This advanced type of traction, combined with a partial double-track expansion, would allow a more frequent service and more mobility offerings.

Director General KR Mag. Franz Weintögl on the extremely positive development of the last two decades: “Over the last 20 years, GKB has developed from a restructuring case into a successful company with a future. As the central mobility provider of West Styria, GKB now has first-class vehicles and infrastructure facilities, but as an important employer also bears social responsibility. The two freight subsidiaries of GKB generate impressive profits, which are reinvested in the region. The company is well positioned and we are opening up new business areas. ”

With its subsidiaries LTE and Adria-Transport, GKB has been extremely successful in the international freight transport business for 15 years. On the basis of this experience, the company is now taking the next development step and since December 10, 2017 has brought a modern, customer-oriented long-distance passenger transport concept onto the rails together with its partner RegioJet. Since then, the yellow RegioJet has been connecting the capitals Vienna and Prague four times a day.
