LUG is the new partner of Czech Airlines Cargo in Munich

Czech Airlines chose LUG aircargo handling as partner to handle air freight shipments at Munich airport

Czech Airlines (CSA), the flag carrier of the Czech Republic, has started cooperating with LUG aircargo handling at Franz Josef Strauss airport Munich at the start of September. The freight handling company will manage the freight of passenger planes as well as road feeder traffic from and to Munich. This includes cargo transported in cooperation with the carrier’s interline partner All Nippon Airways (ANA) to and from Japan.

“Cargo volumes in Munich have developed very dynamically since we have opened the station five years ago. At the beginning of the year we were able to win Rossiya Russian Airlines as a new customer, now Czech Airlines. That makes us proud. In Frankfurt, we have been among the leading independent freight handling companies for over 40 years,“ says Patrik Tschirch, MD and COO, LUG aircargo handling GmbH.

“As a result of the contract with Czech Airlines, we expect to increase our cargo volume in Munich by some 120 tonnes, particularly in the segments express cargo and Far East exports. This successful carrier acquisition confirms the course of our quality strategy,“ adds Nina Hampel, Manager Key Accounts, Sales and Business Development, LUG aircargo handling GmbH.

LUG aircargo handling GmbH is a company of the Dettmer Group KG, a family-managed enterprise headquartered in Bremen. LUG offers customised, reliable solutions for all tasks in the segments of air freight handling at Germany’s airports Frankfurt/Main and Munich. Last year the enterprise handled 230,000 tonnes of freight in Frankfurt. Since October 2011, LUG operates 33,000m² covered warehousing area in Frankfurt and 3,300 m² in Munich, with direct access to the apron for all kinds of cargo, including dangerous goods.
