Maasvlakte 2: APM Terminals places new order with Künz
APM Terminals charges Vorarlberg-based crane manufacturer Hans Künz GmbH to construct 22 more automatic stacker cranes for Maasvlakte 2
APM Terminals awards a new order for the Maasvlakte 2 Terminal to Hans Künz GmbH in Hard. In cooperation with ABB the Vorarlberg-based enterprise will manufacture and deliver 22 more fully automated stacker cranes until mid 2016. The first 26 cranes from an order that was placed in 2012 will be completed by August 2014. The APM terminal on Maasvlakte 2 will start operation on 1 November 2014.
The Künz company was established in 1932 and is a significant provider in the machine and plant engineering sector. The company originally started with building cranes for structural engineering. Later the focus had shifted to container cranes, followed by steel water constructions. With 400 employees at four sites the Künz brand is by their own account a market leader in the segment of container crane facilities in Europe and North America.
