Major investment of cargo-partner in Slovakia

International transport logistics group cargo-partner builds up a regional distribution centre in Dunajska Streda for EUR 21.5 million

 

As the logistics terminal in Slovakia’s capital is used to its full capacity, the worldwide active forwarding group cargo-partner decided to launch another major investment. They will build up a logistics centre in the city of Dunajska Streda, which is only 46 km away from Bratislava and 34 km from Györ in western Hungary. The logistics facility will be constructed in three stages on a 60,000 m² area. Therefrom 30,000 m² are designed to be warehouse facilities which offer sufficient place for 50,000 pallets.

The investment totals EUR 21.5 million. "We are thereby creating around 100 new jobs", says Tibor Májzun, managing director of cargo-partner in Slovakia, at a press conference. "EUR 5 million are budgeted for the first section, a 7,300 m² covered warehouse, including the costs for the acquisition of the premises. It shall start operation by the start of 2012", Mag. Stefan Krauter, owner and CEO of cargo-partner, gives details.

Established in 1993, the Slovakian company of cargo-partner has currently 162 employees at its locations in Bratislava, Zilina and Kosice. From 38,500 forwarded consignments they generated a turnover of EUR 37 million in 2010. This year Tibor Májzun wants to pass the EUR 40 million-benchmark with air/sea freight and truck transportations, complemented by services in the segments warehousing logistics, customs clearance and transport insurance.
