MEDRAD appoints Choice Logistics

Medical diagnostic and therapeutic devices company, MEDRAD, will use Choice Logistics‘ network of field stocking locations to strategically position mission-critical service parts to meet same-day and next-day service level agreements (SLAs) for its clients.

According to Paul Malamet, executive vice president of business development at Choice Logistics, 99%+ on-time delivery for four-hour SLAs is the norm.

With the new agreement, Choice Logistics will help MEDRAD to achieve its aggressive performance, inventory optimisation and international growth goals.

An opportunity was identified in MEDRAD’s service parts inventory, around half of which was being stocked and maintained in its fleet of trucks. After analysing the cost cutting, tracking and control benefits of placing inventory in Choice’s strategic stocking locations (SSLs) instead of with its own technicians, MEDRAD decided to launch its forward stocking initiative.

To date, MEDRAD has implemented several Choice SSLs in the US, including a regional distribution hub in Memphis that facilitates the latest possible cut-offs for next-day deliveries, and plans to expand in North America and potentially EMEA within the next twelve months, tripling the number of SSLs.
