Mondi Containerboard at Fruit Logistica 2012

Commenting on the paper grades on show, Mondi E&I Sales & Marketing Director Florian Stockert says, “In 2012 we are offering our customers new containerboard qualities for modern and state-of-the art packaging solutions. Especially when it comes to fruit and vegetable packaging, we have just recently launched the two paper grades ProVantage Fluting Frigo Forte and ProVantage Kraft X. ProVantage Fluting Frigo Forte adds to Mondi’s Recycled product line and offers a significantly reduced basis weight without any loss of strength. The new kraftliner ProVantage Kraft X continues the downsizing trend. It is available in the low substance range from 70 to 90 gsm. All the paper grades on show are FSC®-certified.”
 
Mondi’s four product lines – Appearance, Kraft, Semi Chem and Recycled – meet a variety of needs.
 
Appearance grades ensure good printability and high durability
Long distances and differing climatic conditions put quite a strain on packaging. Mondi’s high-quality white-top ProVantage Komiwhite and ProVantage Baywhite are more than capable of handling these challenges. They are used for the top layer of corrugated packaging. The smooth, white surface is suitable for high-end printing in order to enhance the look of the packaged goods. Sample reels of ProVantage Komiwhite, ProVantage Baywhite and ProVantage Mottled are being exhibited at the fair.
 
Kraftliner for a variety of applications requiring excellent strength
Containerboard for fruit and vegetables needs to withstand dramatically differing climates, and they must be water-resistant to specified levels. Mondi’s ProVantage Kraftliner Aqua is sufficiently resistant to water penetration to replace wax-coated board. The elimination of wax-dosing units on corrugators can increase processing speed, lower converting costs and protect the environment. The grades ProVantage Kraftliner, ProVantage Kraftliner Aqua, ProVantage KraftTop Liner and ProVantage Kraft X are on show in Berlin.
 
Semi Chem for humid storage applications
These high-performance flutings can be used for a wide range of applications and solutions requiring high strength and humidity resistance. They offer good value for money and are just right for applications involving dramatically differing temperature conditions. Sample reels of ProVantage Fluting Fresco and ProVantage Fluting Aqua will be on display on Mondi’s booth.
 
Recycled containerboard grades are 100% environmentally sound  
Mondi offers lightweight recycled containerboard qualities to suit economical and ecological requirements. In addition, low-substance paper grades lower the cost of the overall packaging solution while conserving resources at the same time. ProVantage Fluting Frigo Forte, ProVantage Testliner 3 and ProVantage Fluting WB will be on show to visitors.
