Montan Spedition gives the starting signal for MOCO-Flex

Moco-Flex: New Montan container series targets shifting more goods flows of selected international industries from road to rail
Montan Speditions GmbH, a forwarding company with locations in Kapfenberg, Fürnitz and Istanbul, specialising in combined transport throughout Europe, presented an absolute innovation in the transport market in 2015: the MOntan Container series, the MOCO-Flex.

This is a brand new 30 ft open top, side and rear open container, which can be loaded or unloaded from three sides. Goods can be filled from above (open top), the side (side open), or behind (rear open) into the MOCO-Flex.

The MOCO-Flex is designed exclusively for use in combined road-rail transport. It is suitable for the transport of a variety of goods, ranging from loose bulk materials, which can be loaded from above and behind or by tipping, and craneable goods (loading / unloading from above) to goods that need to be loaded / unloaded by the side or from behind by forklift.

According to Montan Spedition there is not any no pure road equipment (nor trailers with sliding tarpaulins, tilting, or push floor trailers, etc.) that is as universally applicable as the MOCO-Flex. Hence, the container system has great potential for the shift of new goods flows from road to the environmentally friendlier railway, such as shuttles for industries processing raw bulk materials and ship heavy finished goods which are suited for shipping in 30 ft boxes in the very same loading units.

The Montan forwarding company plans to acquire 100 MOCO Flex containers in the course of 2015. With good market acceptance, a further 100 units will be acquired.
