More options with Economy Service of FedEx

FedEx expands International Economy Services for less urgent consignments
 

FedEx Express expands its service portfolio for global parcel and freight shipments. The world’s biggest express transport enterprise, according to its own account, now offers the FedEx International Economy Service from more than 90 countries and regions around the globe. In addition, the FedEx International Economy Freight Service is offered from more than 50 countries and regions. Before this global expansion FedEx International Economy had been available from 16 countries and regions; FedEx International Economy Freight from 13 areas, including Austria.

FedEx International Economy and FedEx International Economy Freight are precisely timed door-to-door deliveries including customs clearance. With this transport service FedEx provides its customers access to markets, in which more than 90 per cent of the global GDP is generated. The services offer an inexpensive alternative for less urgent consignments.

"The economic downturn put a high cost pressure on many customers. At the same time they have to maintain their competitiveness in the global market right now“, says Robert W. Elliott, President, FedEx Express Europe, Near East, Indian sub-continent and Africa. Furthermore he adds: „With the expansion of our FedEx International Economy Services we target our customers’ requirements by offering more service options and ways to save costs, but also ensuring a smooth dispatch process in our global FedEx network.“
