New Hapag-Lloyd service set up in the east Mediterranean

Hapag-Lloyd container shipping company launches Turkey Israel Express (TIX) with five weekly frequencies from initially five ports

Hapag-Lloyd launches the new Turkey Israel Express (TIX) in the Mediterranean. The new service will enhance the German shipping line’s port coverage in the east Mediterranean. The first departure will be from Mersin, Turkey on May 5, 2015.

The TIX service will initially connect five ports in Egypt, Israel and Turkey, including the hubs Damietta, Port Said, Mersin and Haifa, linking the new service to Hapag-Lloyd’s global service network. As from end of June 2015 Iskenderun will be added to the schedule.

The new weekly service will be operated with a 810 TEU vessel offering 150 reefer plugs. The port rotation is Damietta • Port Said (East) • Mersin • Iskenderun (as from end of June 2015) • Haifa • Damietta.

In line with the TIX-launch also the port rotation of two existing Mediterranean services will be modified:

New port rotation of Levante Express Service (LEX): Cagliari • Genoa • Leghorn • Naples • Salerno • Cagliari • Alexandria • Damietta • Mersin • Izmir • Cagliari.

New port rotation of Adria Express Service (ADX): Damietta • Rijeka • Koper • Venice • Ancona • Bari (as from June 2015) • Port Said (East)• Damietta.
