Noerpel Group expands in the Hamburg metropolitan region

Eurolog Rade logistics center of Garbe Logistics AG now rents 7,000 m² of hall space to the Ascherl-Noerpel forwarding company

Hamburg-based Ascherl Noerpel GmbH & Co. KG has moved into new warehouse and office space in the Eurolog Rade logistics centre in April. On May 1, the operation was launched on schedule. The biggest customer at the new site is the 2 GO Shoe Company GmbH, Westerheim, for whom shoes of the brands Mustang Shoes and Cosmos Comfort are stored and handled.

In the metropolitan region of Hamburg, the Noerpel group already operates two branches with a total of around 15,000 m² of own warehouse and logistics space. These are used to their capacity, therefore the company needed another property to allow further growth.

They selected this new logistics facility especially because of its convenient location for transport and its vicinity to the port. „From the Rade-Wenzendorf location we can optimise hinterland traffic for our customers,“ says Stefan Noerpel-Schneider, managing partner of the Noerpel group. „Maritime containers arriving in the port of Hamburg are unloaded immediately and the goods are stored here.“

The logistics provider assumes also distribution: The staff takes over picking and shipping to retailers in the Benelux countries, France and in several Eastern European countries. The Eurolog Rade logistics centre is an object of Garbe Logistic AG, Hamburg.

With branches in northern and southern Germany, in the Rhineland and in the Czech Republic, Noerpel, the logistics provider founded in 1881, is today optimally positioned for the German domestic transport and export to Europe. Apart from southern Germany the company counts among the leading providers in Vorarlberg and northern Switzerland.

With almost 1,700 employees at 14 locations Noerpel recorded sales of over EUR 280 million in 2014. Heidenheimer Kentner Kraftwagen-Spedition GmbH & Co. KG and Ascherl-Noerpel GmbH Co. KG are part of the corporate group.
