New logistics centre of the Panalpina group in North America
Huntsville Logistics Center of the Panalpina group provides services to well-known representatives of the international hi-tech industry:
Huntsville, Alabama, the heart of Panalpina’s own controlled air freight network in the US has been flanked by a logistics powerhouse with the opening of a new facility for value-added logistics services. The facility, named Huntsville Logistics Center (HLC), is strategically located next to the Panalpina Huntsville hub. It provides order-picking and parts assembly for some of the world’s largest well known hi-tech manufacturers. In addition, the fully equipped 37,000 m²-facility offers temperature controlled storage areas for Panalpina customers in the pharmaceutical and chemical industries.
With the HLC, Panalpina is increasing its logistics capabilities. This is part of Panalpina’s recently specified strategy where the core service offering, Air and Ocean Freight, is to be consequently complemented by Supply Chain Services (SCS) and Value Added Services (VAS) in Logistics, as the enterprise announces in a press release. Rick Jordon, Senior Vice President Supply Chain Solutions, USA, said: “Our goal is to provide customers with fully integrated and customizable supply chain solutions. Our offering in Huntsville is a prime example of this. Customers can use our reliable own controlled air freight network, benefit from a multitude of advanced warehouse services, customizable IT enhancements and direct access to our advanced road feeder service.”
