New management at DB Schenker in Styria

Gerhard Haas and Bernd Labugger want to expand DB Schenker’s market leadership in Styria

At the start of this year the planned change in the management board of DB Schenker in Styria took place. Siegfried Steinkogler retired after 47 years of activity at Schenker & Co AG. The management lies now in the hands of Gerhard Haas (45) and Bernd Labugger (36). Both logistics experts are born in Styria and qualified forwarders. Their target is “to keep and further expand the market leadership in Styria". As for overland transport they want to turn more towards full and less than full loads than in the past. This shall be reached by strengthening disposition and partnerships with carriers.

Siegfried Steinkogler had been holding the function of the branch manager of DB Schenker Graz for 34 years. “He has been establishing the Styrian branch from early age", recapitulates Mag. Elmar Wieland, CEO Schenker & Co AG Austria and Southeastern Europe. The implementation of the first major Styrian model logistics project „ILC“ (Integrated Logistics Center) for the automotive production Graz was one of the great moments in Steinkogler’s career. The forwarding terminal Graz-Puntigam and the logistics centre Graz-Werndorf were opened and expanded several times during his working period.
