New names for four terminal locations of ÖBB Infrastruktur

ÖBB infrastructure: Terminal Service Austria’s cargo centres will be expanded and modernized over the next few years for EUR 400 million

ÖBB Infrastruktur AG offers shippers, forwarders, operators and railway transport companies at some of its locations services such as free loading tracks, or rental of property that is beyond the terminal operation for unaccompanied combined transport and rolling roads. The facilities in „Wien Süd“, „Wolfurt“, „Wörgl“ and „Villach have now been renamed to cargo centres („Güterzentren“).

The four terminal locations offer a complete service, from the handling of cargo units to pick up and delivery at rail transfer points: The entire range is now available from a single source. The full performance range of „Terminal Service Austria“ (TSA) includes:

•    transfer service for trains to and from the terminal

• handling of containers/swap bodies and semi-trailers

• interim storage, storage

• depot management, cleaning and repair of containers

• agency services for train operators and railway transport companies

• handling of the rolling road (ROLA)

• innovative handling of non craneable semi-trailers

• shorter handling times through modern IT software incl. D-GPS (accurate positioning by more advanced GPS)

ÖBB-Infrastruktur will invest EUR 400 million in the years to come in the construction of the Wien Süd cargo centre (formerly Vienna Inzersdorf), the expansion of the Wolfurt cargo centre and the renewal of its equipment and the latest IT technology. The terminal area for combined freight traffic will play an important role in these cargo centres. The combined transport facility in Wien Süd should start operation by the end of 2016.
