The Ro-Pax vessel M/V Greifswald of Ukrferry, a Ukrainian ferry company, is now serving the Constanta-Batumi-Illichevsk route on a weekly basis. The service departs from the Romanian seaport every Thursday just before midnight, and arrives at the Georgian mainland on Sunday 7 am. The objective of the operator is to double of the frequency within a period of four to six months.

The ferry service from Constanta to Batumi offers per departure capacity for 90 trucks of 16 meters in length or 103 rail cars with CIS track width. „In the initial phase, our focus is on the shipment of trailer trucks and container shipments. In the medium term we want to expand the service concept also for the transport of cars,“ said Ionut Monu, General Manager Romcargo Maritim, at the“ Constanta Port Day “ which took place last week in the Abbey of Göttweig near Krems, Lower Austria.
