New ships for Hanjin and General Maritime

Hanjin Shipping has received two more 8,600 TEU class containerships, and General Maritime Corporation has completed its acquisition of seven modern tankers.
 

Hanjin Shipping has received two 8,600 TEU class containerships – the Hanjin Rotterdam and Hanjin Seattle.

These are the last two of the series of five 8,600 TEU class ships received from Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries.

The vessels will be deployed in the carrier’s Asia – North Europe 6 (NE6) service soon after delivery, calling at: Kwangyang > Busan > Ningbo > Shanghai > Xiamen > Hong Kong > Yantian > Felixstowe > Hamburg > Rotterdam > Singapore > Kwangyang.

General Maritime Corporation has completed the acquisition of seven modern tankers with the delivery of the Genmar Spartiate, a Suezmax newbuilding.

The Genmar Spartiate is the final vessel to be delivered under General Maritime’s agreement to acquire five Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCCs) and two Suezmax newbuildings from companies affiliated with the Metrostar Management Corporation.
