Norbert Dentressangle opens new cold store in France

As part of the continued development of its temperature-controlled logistics business in Europe, Norbert Dentressangle has opened a new, shared-user cold store at Miramas in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region in the south of France.

The new 10,745 sq m facility provides chilled and frozen storage for 8,500 pallets on two levels; one underground. The site’s refrigeration system employs natural CO2 gas in line with Norbert Dentressangle’s commitment to sustainable development.

The new facility is strategically located close to Norbert Dentressangle’s existing cold store in Salon-de-Provence, in order to enhance the company’s service to customers in the South of France. Across the two sites, Norbert Dentressangle operates 160,000 cu m of frozen storage space over 21,000 sq m.

The Miramas site will serve around 85 customers, providing a complete frozen storage and distribution service to around 1,500 delivery points from Perpignan to Monaco.

Across Europe, Norbert Dentressangle operates 2,220 refrigerated vehicles and 53 chilled and frozen sites in 12 countries, with combined storage capacity of 4m cu m.The company’s temperature-controlled storage and distribution business generated sales of more than €450m in 2010.
