DHL launches three new direct LCL services

DHL has expanded its global network of its direct Less than Container Load (LCL) service with the launch of three new services connecting China with Australia, Singapore and the US. The company expects the new direct LCL services to reduce transit time and bring wider business opportunities to China-based exporters and Chinese SMEs. In addition, the three new services will significantly reduce CO2 emissions.

China is Australia’s biggest trading partner and the opportunities for increased bilateral trade in the future are positive. The new service, from Ningbo to Sydney, will be able to bring trade opportunities to businesses in Hangzhou, Wenzhou and Ningbo with transit time of 14 days. Compared with the previous routing, this new service is faster by a week.

The new service between Shenzhen, China and Singapore will reduce transit time by four days. It is expected to benefit customers in Shenzhen, Dongguan, Huizhou, Guangzhou, Foshan, Zhongshan and Zhuhai.

To help further enhance the competitiveness of Shanghai in the international shipping market, DHL has also launched an LCL service from Shanghai to Houston with a transit time of 19 days. Furthermore, from Houston, Chinese exporters can also reach other cities of New Orleans, Dallas, El Paso, Brownsville, Denver and Oklahoma in the US.

Marc Meier, Head of LCL Management Global, DHL Global Forwarding, said, "As a global leader in LCL service, DHL’s unrivalled network is fundamental in delivering superior logistic solutions to our customers. Today, the new services from China to Australia, Singapore and USA will certainly help us strengthen our network’s capabilities and extend more benefits to more customers. Like our previously launched LCL services from China to Pakistan and United Arab Emirates, our new services also contribute to global environment by reducing CO2 emission."
