NYK to take full ownership of Yusen

NYK has set out plans to acquire the 40 per cent of Yusen Logistics that it does not already own.The move is part of a medium-term management plan “More than Shipping” which is designed to strengthen NYK’s competitive through differentiation from other companies as well as strengthening its resilience to instabilities in the shipping market.

In its offer document, NYK says: “the Tender Offeror Group has set the logistics business as its core business, and, in order to strengthen its business foundation, has been engaged in expanding the logistic services centred around growing industries and emerging markets and strengthening its marketing capabilities use the Group’s management foundation.
