ÖBB group to sell ‘Cargoterminal Freudenau’

Streamlined activities of Express-Interfracht forwarding results in the ‘socially acceptable’ reduction in staff by 30 jobs
 
ÖBB-Holding is about to sell a location of its cargo division. Christian Kern, Managing Director ÖBB announced the closure and sale of the ‘Cargoterminal Freudenau’ in an interview with the daily newspaper ‘Wirtschaftsblatt’. They were concentrating on the cargo segments railway and overland, and withdrawing from business activities without clearly visible competitive advantages, the head of the railway enterprise explains this action. According to his estimations expected earnings from the sale of this location amount to a single-digit million Euros sum. There will be a ‘socially acceptable’ program for the 30 employees working at this site.
 
ÖBB’s withdrawal from the site Vienna Freudenau is part of a downsizing program with the Express-Interfracht forwarding company. The corporation consisting of many companies will be downsized to an economically reasonable dimension.
