ÖOC extends partnership with DB Schenker

Official logistics partner of the Austrian Olympic Team; 16 semi-trailers to start their journey to Sochi
 
DB Schenker and the Austrian Olympic Committee (ÖOC) are extending their cooperation. On Oct. 7th in Vienna the long-standing partners signed a new cooperation agreement. For several years the ÖOC has been depending on DB Schenker’s expertise in global transport arrangements. 
 
From now on DB Schenker acts as the “Official logistics partner of the Austrian Olympic Team” and will be responsible for transporting the equipment of “Austria Tirol House” in Sochi/Russia before, during and after the XXII. Winter Olympic Games in 2014. 
 
“The experience in worldwide transport arrangements makes DB Schenker into a competent partner,” said Dr. Karl Stoss, president of ÖOC. He added: “In sports and event logistics, we can rely on the DB Schenker Logistics team.” 
 
In the near future 16 semi-trailers with marquees and equipment will be transported by DB SCHENKERsportsevents to Sochi from Bad Rappenau in Germany and Innsbruck. A chair lift and gondola will also be transported by land in the next few days to Russia.
