Online platform ShareHouse will enter the Austrian market
The Berlin-based start-up ShareHouse GmbH & Co. KG is an online marketplace that can be used to rent or let storage space. The platform was launched in April 2018 and today employs 12 people.
As a transparent and flexible digital marketplace, the platform brings together providers and those seeking storage capacity. Logisticians and freight forwarders note their free space there and companies – from SMEs to DAX groups – can book them at short notice.
The Austrian market is a very interesting one for ShareHouse. Therefore, the company is looking for warehouse logisticians and operators willing list themselves on the platform. “We also want to understand which special customer requirements there are in Austria and where the logistic hubs are located,” says Managing Director Jörg Klöpper.
They plant to enter the Austrian market within the next months. Then seekers of warehouse capacity should be able to find capacity in Austria via ShareHouse.
The special feature of the digital marketplace is its transparency. Companies that need storage space enter their specific requirements online. Various filters allow a demand-oriented search, for example by location, storage type or certifications. The system then determines suitable available warehouses and shows all relevant factors in the search results, such as costs, operating hours, industry experience and the contact details of the warehouse operator. The booking is also made online.
Currently more than 190 logistics service providers offer their free capacities in all common warehouse classes via ShareHouse. In total, over 50,000 m² of refrigerated storage space and 360,000 shelving spaces are available at more than one million pallet storage locations. In addition to small and medium-sized companies, DAX companies have already found and booked suitable storage areas via the platform.
On 11 and 12 April, ShareHouse will be exhibiting for the first time at the Logistik Dialog event hosted by the Bundesvereinigung Logistik Österreich (BVL) in Vösendorf, Lower Austria. Under the motto “Digital Effectiveness, Maximum Agility” the company will present its online marketplace for warehouse space.
