Pall-Ex searches for Czech and Slovakian partners

Pall-Ex is on the way to integrate Slovakia and Czech Republic into its European network for palletised freight

Palletised freight specialist Pall-Ex has started its search for a Principal National Partner (PNP) for its next network in Slovakia and the Czech Republic, as part of a new phase of its expansion in Central Europe. The group is searching for a logistics provider to run the operation that will cover both countries, and take advantage of the profitable connection with the group’s other networks.

“Launching a new network in the region of Slovakia and the Czech Republic is one of the next key steps in our aim to form a Pan-European pallet network,” explains Pall-Ex Group managing director Adrian Russell. “With operations in Romania going from strength-to-strength, and Pall-Ex Polska having successfully launched in September 2013, the opportunity is open for us to create a new link in our chain across Central and Eastern Europe. The new PNP will therefore be integral to bringing our efficient model of logistics to the region, which is now well-established in the UK, Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, Romania and Poland.”

The chosen partner will have control of Pall-Ex’s operations in the region as part of the wider Pan-European network, helping the group to establish its development. The company’s ‘Hub and Spoke’ model, in which each member haulier collects freight from local customers and delivers it to a central hub for outbound transportation by another network member, will be new for the region. It allows customers to send consignments ranging from single pallet to part trailer loads overnight. By sharing trailers with other freight bound for the same destination, overall haulage costs and the environmental impact are both significantly reduced.

In introducing this to the Czech Republic and Slovakia, the PNP will be in a unique position to take advantage of the market with the new service and the efficiency it brings.

The partner will have the opportunity to build on the group’s extensive knowledge in logistics, to offer new distribution services under the Pall-Ex brand and to use its bespoke IT system, TWINE. The new network will join Pall-Ex Italia, Pall-Ex Iberia, Pall-Ex Romania, Pall-Ex France and Pall-Ex Polska. The group has recently announced that it is also searching for a PNP in Bulgaria, which is intended to start operations at a similar time.
