Palletways appoints new MD

Palletways Group has appointed Dave Walmsley, the freight network’s previous member and network development director, as the managing director of the company.

The former MD, Luis Zubialde, will take on the role of chief operating officer.

Walmsley joined the company 11months ago, after working at the Lyreco Group for 25 years.

“I relish the challenge ahead as our experienced management team continue to grow the UK business,” said Walmsley. “Palletways has a strong track record of customer service excellence and breaking new ground in technology and innovation.

“I look forward to driving this reputation ahead and working closely with our UK members to maintain our position as the number one palletised freight network throughout Europe.”

James Wilson, Palletways Group CEO, said: “These appointments support our goal to become the European network of choice for the distribution of palletised express freight. Luis has overseen a substantial increase in UK service excellence and pallet volumes since his arrival in 2014, and we expect the skills and experience that he’ll bring to the Group will supercharge our growth in both existing and new markets.
