Panalpina’s five new Logistics Competence Centres

Panalpina’s Logistics Competence Centres across the globe support companies to maximise efficiency in their supply chains

Establishing four new Logistics Competence Centres (LCCs) across the globe and a Supply Chain Solutions Centre in Germany, the Panalpina group creates solutions to help companies from the shipping industry to maximise efficiency in their supply chains. The globally acting transport and logistics group supports its customers the design and execution of logistics and transportation services and offers strategic consultancy on their end-to-end supply chain. Taking market volatility into consideration, experts at the new LCCs will analyse the cost of capital, damage and loss, lost sales, time to market and asset velocity affect supply chain costs.

Panalpina established its LCCs in Prague, Singapore, Buenos Aires and New Jersey. Experts will provide support for the Logistics teams in Panalpina’s areas. The local teams can resort to the Logistics experts in the LCCs for support from pre-sales through implementation to continuous improvement. “Our Logistics Competence Centres unite logistics know-how, industry-specific experience and the best available tools and platform,” said Kerry Eby, Global Head of Logistics Solutions at Panalpina, who is directly responsible for the LCCs.

While the LCCs specifically look at finding and implementing solutions for warehousing, Panalpina’s Supply Chain Solutions Centre in Frankfurt acts as an extension of the customers’ supply chain management for improving their supply chain end-to-end. The objective is not just about providing customers with strategic guidance in regard to supply chain design and execution but about putting the identified optimisation possibilities into practice. The experts identify inefficiencies in supply chain configurations with the ultimate objective of improving their end-to-end performance in terms of operational, financial as well as managerial aspects.

Panalpina’s goal is to enhance long-term partnerships with its customers by providing the best possible solutions for their individual requirements. “With this approach we are creating win-win situations with our top customers across all industries,” said Sven Hoemmken, Global Head of Marketing and Sales.
